Finance Assistant – BRCiS (Somalia)

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the day‑to‑day implementation of the finance function for the BRCiS project in Somalia, contributing to NRC’s cash‑based interventions and broader humanitarian response.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
• Implement delegated finance tasks according to the action plan and prepare status reports for management.
• Monitor costs in the financial system, verify correct project and budget coding, and flag discrepancies.
• Maintain and update trackers for programme and CMU travel, consultant contracts, and finance contacts.
• Track payments due to consortium partners and follow up with the country office team to ensure timely processing.
• File BRCiS documents correctly in the filing tree and promote ideas for finance function improvement.

Required profile

• Qualified female candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.

• Experience in maintaining financial trackers and supporting payment processes.
• Good understanding of humanitarian finance procedures and NRC’s operational standards.
