Licensed Clinical Psychologist

About the role

We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist to join Aspen Medical’s team supporting the United Nations Office in Somalia (UNSOS). The role involves delivering comprehensive mental‑health services, including assessment, diagnosis and therapeutic interventions, while upholding the highest standards of clinical governance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychological assessments using interviews, observations and standardized tests.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evidence‑based practices.
• Provide individual and group therapy using modalities such as CBT and DBT.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure integrated care.
• Participate in case reviews, audits and quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage patient crises, including suicidal ideation and self‑harm, following established protocols.
• Deliver culturally sensitive interventions and support mental‑health programs for patients and staff.
• Assist with referrals to specialist services when required.

Required profile

• Licensed psychologist with experience in clinical settings.
• Strong understanding of evidence‑based therapeutic approaches.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and ethical practice.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to adapt to the cultural context of Somalia.
