Project Officer – Immunization (Baidoa District)

About the role

The Project Officer – Immunization will lead and support the implementation of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) activities at district level in Baidoa and surrounding areas. The role focuses on improving routine and outreach vaccination services for children under five and eligible women.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support routine immunization services and supplemental outreach activities in targeted districts.
• Work closely with the Ministry of Health, district health teams, health facility staff and implementing partners to ensure effective service delivery.
• Develop, update and monitor micro‑plans for fixed, outreach and mobile immunization sessions.
• Conduct supportive supervision visits to health facilities and outreach sites, ensuring adherence to national EPI standards.
• Monitor vaccine supply, cold‑chain performance and key performance indicators, reporting data for evidence‑based decision making.
• Participate in district and state coordination meetings, representing the project and reporting progress against targets.

Required profile

• Experience in immunization programs, preferably within humanitarian or public health settings.
• Strong knowledge of national EPI guidelines and donor reporting requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government health authorities and NGOs.
• Excellent organizational and monitoring skills.
