Area Awards Management & Donor Compliance Officer

About the role

The Area Awards Management & Donor Compliance Officer supports the Area Awards Coordinator in planning, securing and managing development and humanitarian awards for Save the Children’s programmes in Somalia. The role ensures award data is up‑to‑date, provides frontline support to field teams and shares information across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update award information and databases.
• Assist in the preparation, submission and monitoring of grant proposals and contracts.
• Coordinate with programme and finance teams to ensure compliance with donor guidelines (e.g., USAID, DFID, ECHO, SIDA, UN).
• Support partner budget reviews and agreement management.
• Provide timely reporting and documentation for donors and internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate communication between field offices, headquarters and external partners.

Required profile

• Degree in Grants Management, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance/Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
• 2‑3 years of experience in finance, grants, contracts or sub‑grant management, preferably with major donor guidelines.
• Strong written and spoken English and ability to work in multicultural teams.
• Experience collaborating with private companies, international organisations and government authorities.
