Finance Officer – Kismayo, Somalia

About the role

The Finance Officer will manage daily financial operations at the Kismayo office, ensuring smooth payment processing, cash‑flow management and compliance with internal controls. This position supports the Area Finance Coordinator to keep the office’s financial diary on schedule and to avoid bottlenecks in monthly payments and reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process payments, ensuring compliance and proper controls.
• Manage office cash‑flow and oversee daily financial transactions.
• Support the Area Finance Coordinator in maintaining the monthly financial diary.
• Upload, review and validate vendor invoices in the Prosave ERP system.
• Run daily/weekly payment cycles and guarantee timely supplier payments.
• Post financial data, perform reconciliations and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a recognized university.
• ACCA or CPA qualification is desirable.
• 2‑3 years of finance experience in an INGO environment.
• Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel, Word and ERP systems.
• High level of integrity, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
