Digital Marketing Intern

About the role

A communications and PR organization in Somalia is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Digital Marketing Intern to support its marketing and communications team. The intern helps execute digital campaigns, manage online platforms and create engaging content, gaining hands-on experience in digital marketing, social media management, branding and online advertising.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns.
• Create and schedule content for social media platforms and support community management and audience engagement.
• Help create content such as graphics, videos, captions and blog posts.
• Monitor campaign performance and prepare basic analytics reports.
• Support email marketing and online promotional activities.
• Conduct market and competitor research.
• Assist in website content updates and SEO activities.
• Track marketing tasks, campaign deadlines and deliverables.
• Support event promotion and brand visibility initiatives.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business or a related field.
• Strong interest in digital marketing and social media.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creativity and attention to detail, good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Added advantage: experience managing social media pages, knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator, basic video editing, familiarity with Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, SEO or paid advertising platforms, and a portfolio of content or social media work.
