Midwife - Maternity Care

About the role

Global Fertility Center is looking for a full-time, on-site Midwife in Mogadishu. The Midwife provides comprehensive maternity and reproductive health care, including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal services for patients undergoing fertility treatment and pregnancy care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and monitor clients and conduct routine examinations
• Support childbirth and provide lactation counseling
• Educate patients and families on reproductive health and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, fertility specialists, nurses and counselors to ensure continuity of care and adherence to clinical protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection prevention and safety standards

Required profile

• Valid midwifery or nursing qualification, with current registration or licensure as required by local regulations
• Experience supporting childbirth and immediate newborn care, with a focus on patient safety and comfort
• Previous experience in maternity, fertility or women's health settings is highly beneficial
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams
• Commitment to non-discriminatory, culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care

Required skills

• Strong clinical skills in maternity and midwifery, including antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
• Knowledge of reproductive medicine principles relevant to fertility treatment and maternal health
• Competence in lactation support, breastfeeding education and postpartum counseling
• Proficiency in maintaining clinical records and following evidence-based guidelines and protocols
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple patients safely
