Pest Control / Fumigation Technician

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Pest Control / Fumigation Technician based in Mogadishu. The role covers inspecting premises, identifying pest infestations and applying approved treatments such as spraying, baiting, fogging and trapping. Travel and accommodation expenses are provided by the client.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect assigned premises, identify pest infestations, assess their severity and choose the right treatment method.
• Apply approved pest-control and fumigation treatments safely and effectively, including spraying, baiting, fogging, trapping and other methods.
• Implement preventive measures, carry out follow-up inspections, keep treatment records and advise clients on preventing re-infestation.
• Handle, mix, transport, store and dispose of pesticides, insecticides, rodenticides and fumigants according to product instructions and safety requirements.
• Operate, clean and maintain pest-control equipment and use appropriate PPE.
• Follow health, safety, environmental and chemical-handling procedures, secure treated areas and protect occupants, pets and others from exposure.
• Report chemical spills, accidents, exposure incidents or equipment defects immediately.
• Communicate professionally with clients, explain findings and give clear pre- and post-treatment instructions, while keeping records of inspections, treatments and chemicals used.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of proven experience as a Pest Control Technician, Fumigation Technician, Exterminator or in a similar position.
• Demonstrated practical experience in pest inspection, chemical application, fumigation and pest prevention.
• Relevant certificate, diploma or training in pest control, fumigation, environmental health, public health, agriculture or a related field is an advantage.
• Experience in commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial or institutional premises is an advantage.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of pesticides, insecticides, rodenticides and fumigants and their applications.
• Experience with pest-control equipment and PPE.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and storage.
• Ability to identify common pests and choose appropriate treatments.
