Project Officer – GIS & Information Management

About the role

The Project Officer will manage day‑to‑day information on explosive ordnance and remnants of war (ERW) in Somalia. You will ensure that data is systematically collected, validated, analysed and shared to support operational planning, national coordination and partner decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, validate and analyse ERW data from field partners.
• Produce high‑quality thematic hazard maps, operational maps and dashboards using GIS tools.
• Support partner planning, prioritisation and coordination through GIS products.
• Prepare and submit timely data reports and information products.
• Facilitate the Information Management Working Group (IMWG) and other coordination mechanisms.
• Contribute to strengthening institutional capacity in information management.

Required profile

• Experience in GIS and information management, preferably in humanitarian or mine‑action contexts.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to data quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners and stakeholders.
• Good communication skills in English.
