Community Health Officer (CHO) – Kismayu

About the role

Trócaire’s Health and Nutrition Programme in Somalia is seeking a Community Health Officer (CHO) to supervise iCCM supervisors and support Community Health Workers (CHWs) in delivering integrated community case management services in Kismayu.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise iCCM supervisors and mentor CHWs to ensure quality delivery of iCCM/ICCM+ services.
• Compile, verify and report data from iCCM activities, ensuring indicator compliance.
• Coordinate with static health facilities to maintain strong referral linkages and align with Ministry of Health priorities.
• Identify and establish appropriate sites for integrated community case management.
• Lead community sensitisation on major health risks and promote preventive measures.
• Report any issues that could affect programme objectives to the Project Coordinator.

Required profile

• Experience supervising community health teams and working with iCCM programmes.
• Familiarity with health data collection, processing and quality reporting.
• Ability to work closely with health facilities and Ministry of Health stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills for community mobilisation and sensitisation.
