Senior ID Management Officer

About the role

The Senior ID Management Officer will lead the design, configuration and operation of ID card software for the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). The role ensures accurate issuance and management of identity documents for military, police, civilian personnel, contractors and visitors across all mission installations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation and monitoring of registration, identity management and digital identity strategies for mission components.
• Maintain the mission’s ID database, ensuring real‑time updates of personnel movements, rotations and deployments.
• Conduct regular verification of troop numbers and personnel status using nominal rolls, SAP records, biometric systems and host‑government databases.
• Provide technical advice and support to staff on identity management activities.
• Promote interoperability between AUSSOM identification systems and external digital ID platforms, including UNSOS and private‑sector solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in identity management, security or related fields.
• Familiarity with military or peace‑keeping environments is advantageous.
• Strong analytical abilities to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
