Electrician Journeyman – Tier 3

About the role

Fluor is seeking a skilled Electrician Journeyman (Tier 3) to install, test, and maintain grounding systems and electrical infrastructure on construction projects. The role involves working on-site, following strict safety and code requirements, and ensuring reliable power distribution for various equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair grounding systems in compliance with codes and manufacturer guidelines.
• Plan and execute new or modified installations to minimize material waste and provide future maintenance access.
• Prepare and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints to install concealed wiring before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, and assemble electrical conduit using hand and power tools.
• Pull wiring through conduit, splice wires, and connect to lighting fixtures, power equipment, switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels.
• Connect power cables and ground leads to motors, HVAC units, and other electrical utilization equipment.
• Test circuit continuity and component safety using instruments such as ohmmeters, batteries, buzzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Observe installed systems for hazards, perform adjustments, repairs, or replacements as needed.
• Comply with AR 710‑2, AR 735‑5, DLA disposal guidelines, AR 420‑1, AR 190‑11, and DoD Uniformed Facilities Code.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of four years of related electrical experience.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet safety, health, and security standards.

Required skills

• Grounding system installation and maintenance.
• Electrical conduit installation and assembly.
• Wiring, splicing, and connection of electrical components.
• Use of electrical testing equipment (ohmmeter, oscilloscope, battery, buzzer).
• Interpretation of electrical blueprints and diagrams.
• Compliance with military and DoD electrical codes and regulations.
