Language Specialist Annotator

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Language Specialist Annotator to support the development of advanced AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems. You will apply your linguistic expertise to annotate, review, and validate language data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and cultural relevance.

Key responsibilities

• Annotate and review text, speech, or conversational datasets, labeling parts of speech, sentiment, intent, and syntax according to project guidelines.
• Ensure cultural and contextual appropriateness of annotated data.
• Develop and refine annotation guidelines.
• Conduct quality‑assurance checks and measure inter‑annotator agreement.
• Provide feedback to improve workflows and annotation standards.
• Support multilingual or domain‑specific annotation projects when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Languages, or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in the target language(s).
• Strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and language structure.
• Experience in linguistic annotation or data‑labeling projects.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts and AI workflows.
• Knowledge of corpus linguistics or discourse analysis.
• Multilingual capabilities.

Required skills

• Annotation tools such as Label Studio, Prodigy, or ELAN.
