Remote Network Engineer (Contract)

About the role

The Bank of Somaliland is seeking a remote Contract Network Engineer to design, implement and maintain a secure, reliable network infrastructure that supports its central and regional operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimise scalable network architectures.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls and VPN devices.
• Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity or security incidents.
• Document network topology, configurations and change history.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support network upgrades, disaster‑recovery planning and integration of new services.

Required profile

• Strong background in network engineering, design and administration.
• Experience with network security best practices in regulated environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+) are a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
