AI Trainer – Audio Speech Recognition (Somali)

About the role

Innodata is looking for language professionals to listen to audio clips in Somali, accurately transcribe spoken content and help improve AI speech‑recognition systems.

Key responsibilities

• Listen to audio recordings and transcribe spoken Somali into written text.
• Maintain original meaning, context, spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting.
• Identify and correct missing words, misheard phrases and transcription errors.
• Handle unclear speech, background noise and varied accents using project guidelines.
• Follow transcription standards to ensure consistency and high‑quality output.

Required profile

• Native or fluent proficiency in Somali and English.
• Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail.
• Excellent written language skills, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to work 5‑6 flexible hours per day remotely.

Required skills

• Audio transcription experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with speech‑recognition or data‑annotation tasks (advantageous).
