Assistant Manager, Technical Sales

About the role

The Assistant Manager, Technical Sales will drive new business opportunities and promote electronic chemicals to key customers, supporting continuous growth for BASF. This role bridges customers and product development teams, ensuring successful commercialization of advanced semiconductor solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and scout new business opportunities, assess technical requirements and coordinate feasibility studies with internal teams.
• Lead product promotion projects, including technical meetings, resource planning, sampling, product registration, internal qualification, pilot runs, improvement cycles and scale‑up to market launch.
• Act as the primary interface between customers and the product development team throughout the promotion process.
• Collect and analyse industry trends, customer technology roadmaps and competitor activities to inform product strategy.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific field (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, preferably in new‑business development, technical sales or a customer‑facing engineering role.
• Experience with etch module (wet clean), thin‑film module (electrochemical deposition) or process integration engineering is advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of semiconductor process engineering.
• Knowledge of electrochemical deposition (ECD) and wet‑clean processes.
• Experience with Cu/Co plating and CMP slurry/post‑clean handling.
• Ability to conduct technical product qualification, pilot testing and scale‑up.
• Proficiency in market intelligence gathering and competitor analysis.
