Excel Specialist – Remote Data Operations

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Excel Specialist to become the backbone of our data operations. Working remotely, you will collaborate with finance, marketing, and operations teams across Africa to turn raw data into actionable business intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain complex, scalable Excel workbooks, pivot tables, and interactive dashboards.
• Write and maintain VBA scripts and macros to automate data entry, extraction, and report generation.
• Clean, validate, and merge large datasets from CRMs, ERPs, and cloud databases using Power Query and advanced lookup formulas.
• Develop dynamic forecasting, budgeting, and performance‑tracking models for senior management.
• Audit existing Excel files, troubleshoot formula errors, and ensure 100% data integrity.
• Translate technical insights into visual formats and train remote cross‑functional teams on custom reporting tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, spreadsheet management, or financial modeling.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines across African time zones.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query).
• VBA programming and macro development.
• Data cleaning, validation, and merging techniques.
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI and basic SQL concepts.
