Finance Assistant

About the role

Save the Children is recruiting a Finance Assistant in Mogadishu, Somalia, for its Somalia programme. The role manages the receipt and disbursement of funds and keeps accurate financial records while supporting the Mogadishu programme. It reports to the Area Finance Officer. During major humanitarian emergencies, the holder may work outside the normal profile and vary working hours.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, such as accounting, banking, finance or another social science.
• At least 1 year of proven work experience in a busy environment, preferably with a humanitarian organisation.
• High level of integrity and ability to work as part of a professional team.
• Ability to work under high pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering results.

Required skills

• Computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word.
• Cash management: handling, disbursing and recording all transactions.
