Global Bulk Parcel Operations Manager

About the role

The Global Bulk Parcel Operations Manager will support the bulk parcel operation team lead in managing chartering activities for chemical tankers across the Asia‑Pacific region. The role focuses on delivering cost‑efficient, compliant, and safe transportation of BASF products.

Key responsibilities

• Execute contracts of affreightment (COA) and spot chartering, handling cargo demand consolidation, demand planning, vessel and cargo nomination, and fixture execution.
• Develop and optimise shipment strategies through cargo bundling and efficient allocation of COA volumes.
• Identify suitable vessels by assessing technical and commercial criteria such as space, lay‑can, tank coating, recent cargoes, ship‑vetting status and jetty acceptance.
• Coordinate with shipowners, brokers, shippers, receivers, terminals and internal BASF entities to ensure seamless chartering operations.
• Manage critical issues and claims, escalating when necessary and implementing corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction.
• Monitor shipowner performance, establish KPIs and drive continuous operational improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bulk parcel shipping or chartering operations within the chemical or related industry.
• Strong understanding of charter party clauses, regulatory compliance and safety standards.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and lead issue‑resolution processes.
