About the role
The HMIS Assistant will support health information management, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning for the UNFPA‑funded Sexual and Reproductive Health project in Puntland and the North‑East States. Working under the SRH Project Officer, the role ensures accurate data collection, verification, analysis and reporting to guide evidence‑based decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Collect, compile, verify and manage SRH project data from health facilities and outreach teams.
- Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly and donor reports in line with IRC and UNFPA requirements.
- Review facility reports for completeness, consistency and accuracy before submission.
- Maintain project databases and electronic health information systems, including DHIS2 where applicable.
- Support data entry, cleaning, validation, analysis and interpretation.
- Generate routine data summaries, dashboards, indicator tracking sheets and performance reports.
- Assist health facility staff with patient record keeping and reporting tools.
- Monitor data flow, address reporting gaps and ensure confidentiality of health information.
- Support implementation of the project monitoring plan and performance indicator tracking.
Required profile
- Ability to work under direct supervision of the SRH Project Officer.
- Experience collaborating with health facility staff, outreach teams, Ministry of Health and program/MEAL teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and confidentiality.
Required skills
- DHIS2 or similar electronic health information system.
- Data entry, cleaning and validation.
- Data analysis and reporting.
- Use of dashboards, indicator tracking sheets and performance reporting tools.
