About the role

The Information Management Officer will support the Danish Refugee Council’s programmes in Somalia by ensuring high‑quality data collection, cleaning, analysis and reporting. The role strengthens information management processes, enabling evidence‑based programming, coordination and accountability across humanitarian operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage, clean, validate and maintain programmatic datasets from staff and partners, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Conduct data deduplication, scoring, verification and quality‑assurance checks for beneficiary and referral data across multiple systems.
  • Develop, code, test and maintain digital data collection tools in KoboToolbox, including XLSForms with skip logic, calculations, constraints and validation rules.
  • Provide technical support and day‑to‑day management of information management systems such as the Referral Management System (RMS) and related platforms.
  • Produce dashboards, visualisations, analytical summaries and routine reports to support monitoring, coordination and decision‑making.
  • Support data integration, migration and synchronization between KoboToolbox, RMS, CRM systems and other programme databases.
  • Train and assist staff and partners on KoboToolbox, RMS, reporting tools and information‑management procedures.
  • Ensure data protection and information‑governance by handling sensitive beneficiary data securely and in line with DRC policies.

Required profile

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in information or data management within humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Proven ability to clean, validate, deduplicate and analyse large programme datasets.
  • Experience developing and managing digital data collection tools using KoboToolbox and XLSForms.
  • Familiarity with referral or case‑management systems such as RMS and CRM platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to produce clear visualisations and reports.
