Information Technology Assistant (IT Support)

About the role

The Information Technology Assistant provides day‑to‑day IT support to the Somaliland Area Office, ensuring that all hardware, software and network services run smoothly. The role contributes to asset management, troubleshooting and user training in line with Save the Children’s IT policies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑line support for computers, printers and software applications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches and modems.
• Support Microsoft Windows‑based networks, servers, domain configuration and antivirus solutions.
• Manage IT assets, track inventory and ensure compliance with organisational standards.
• Provide user training and promote effective use of technology across the office.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of relevant IT support experience in an organisational setting.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Commitment to Save the Children’s values and safeguarding principles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
