Laboratory Assistant – Ecotoxicology

About the role

Join BASF's Global Ecotoxicology unit as a Laboratory Assistant. You will support the planning and execution of biological studies with terrestrial invertebrates, plants and insects, contributing to sustainable agricultural solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and carry out ecotoxicology studies in close coordination with the laboratory lead.
• Prepare test systems, active substances and handle test organisms in laboratory and field settings.
• Document and evaluate study results using internal IT systems and present findings graphically.
• Continuously optimise and develop study methods in line with the research strategy.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and the Ecotoxicology safety philosophy.

Required profile

• Completed scientific vocational training in biology, environmental sciences, chemistry or a related field.
• Initial to several years of experience conducting ecotoxicological studies in terrestrial or aquatic environments.
• Experience working under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) conditions is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of experimental design and laboratory techniques.
