Project Manager – ACALS Project

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council seeks a Project Manager to lead the Adaptation for Climate and Livelihood Systems (ACALS) project in Beledweyne. The role combines day‑to‑day management, technical oversight, and coordination with donors and partners to improve food security for 15,000 households.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and monitor climate‑resilient agriculture, post‑harvest management, and livelihood activities in line with donor requirements and seasonal calendars.
• Provide technical oversight of shared equipment (tillage tractors, threshers, feed‑block machines) and establish pay‑per‑use models for sustainability.
• Coordinate with UNOPS, ministries, and local authorities to align water infrastructure, policy, and disaster risk reduction efforts.
• Oversee budget, procurement, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with AfDB safeguards and DRC financial procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing donor‑funded agricultural or climate‑adaptation projects.
• Ability to integrate conflict‑sensitive, protection‑informed, and gender‑responsive approaches.
• Experience preparing WFP‑required narrative, quantitative, and financial reports.
• Strong capacity to lead technical training and mentorship for project staff and beneficiaries.
