Restaurant Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join a fast‑growing restaurant team in Baidoa, Somalia. The role combines core financial management with hands‑on support for B2B relationships and operational cost control in a hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance contact for corporate clients and partners, handling invoicing, credit control and vendor payments.
• Manage the full revenue cycle, ensuring accurate billing for all restaurant services and monitoring aging reports to maintain cash flow.
• Oversee accounts payable, verify vendor invoices and process payments promptly using financial software.
• Apply F&B costing techniques to monitor kitchen and store expenses, audit stock requisitions, and supervise dispatch to prevent loss.
• Perform daily account closures, reconcile sales with physical stock and bank deposits, and keep audit‑ready documentation.
• Maintain the general ledger, prepare monthly profit‑and‑loss statements, budget‑to‑actual variance reports, and conduct bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the Finance Manager, providing cover during absences and supporting team initiatives.
• Assess training needs, develop hospitality‑focused financial modules, and coach staff to align operations with company goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification (in progress or completed).
• Proven experience in the hospitality sector is highly preferred.
• Strong mastery of invoicing, payment tracking and financial reconciliations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for professional B2B interaction.
• Willingness to relocate and thrive in a fast‑paced restaurant environment.
