Senior Auditor – Internal Audit (m/f/d)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Auditor (m/f/d) to join our Internal Audit unit in the Coatings division. The role involves conducting independent, risk‑based audits across BASF group companies worldwide, analysing processes and supporting the organisation in creating added value.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based audits at global group entities.
• Analyse business processes for compliance, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify key risks and design appropriate audit programmes.
• Document audit steps, findings and results in a clear, structured manner.
• Prepare concise audit reports and present results to senior management.
• Follow up on implementation of agreed corrective actions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal audit methods and tools.

Required profile

• University degree in business administration, economics, finance, accounting or a related field.
• Several years of experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, controlling or risk management.
• Strong analytical abilities and a systematic, thorough working style.
• High level of initiative, responsibility and professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with senior management.
• Fluent German and English.

Required skills

• Proficient use of MS Office.
• Knowledge of SAP (advantage).
