Senior Software QA Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Software QA Engineer within BASF's Global Digital Factory ECO, you will ensure the quality of modern web applications used by BASF Coatings and external customers. You will work in an agile DevOps team, contributing to reliable, performant, and user‑focused digital products.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality intranet and internet applications that support BASF Coatings services.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle from ideation to production and ongoing operations.
• Define test strategies and design automated testing solutions for functional and non‑functional goals.
• Develop deep understanding of business logic, workflows, and user scenarios to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Collaborate with developers to validate features, identify defects early, and support automated testing.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites (functional, regression, performance) and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
• Use tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, and JMeter to test web applications, cloud solutions, and REST APIs.
• Work with product owners, designers, and developers to align on acceptance criteria and quality expectations.
• Contribute to monitoring, performance testing, and DevOps activities for reliable production operations.
• Document test strategies, cases, results, and quality insights.

Required profile

• Degree or comparable education in computer or information science.
• Minimum 3 + years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Proven experience creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and structured testing documentation.
