Communications & Visibility Officer (Junior)

About the role

The Communications & Visibility Officer will support the core team of the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. This junior position focuses on enhancing the project’s public profile, ensuring compliance with donor visibility guidelines, and producing high‑quality communication materials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a communication and visibility plan aligned with EU standards.
• Produce newsletters, press releases, case studies, and social‑media content.
• Manage the project’s social‑media channels using appropriate management tools.
• Coordinate public events and liaise with media outlets and stakeholders.
• Maintain an archive of communication outputs and monitor visibility metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience managing communications for development projects or NGOs.
• Strong written and verbal English skills; Somali language is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to follow donor communication and visibility guidelines.
