Legal Aid Professional – Law SQE

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position in Mogadishu focuses on providing legal aid within the Law SQE framework. The Legal Aid Professional will support clients by conducting legal research, analyzing case facts, and preparing client‑facing legal documents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research and interpret statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to Somali jurisdiction.
• Advise clients on legal issues, assist with applications and forms, and draft or review contracts and other legal documentation.
• Maintain accurate case records, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and coordinate with external legal entities as needed.
• Monitor legal developments, collaborate with local stakeholders, and contribute to internal best‑practice guidelines.

Required profile

• Relevant legal education (law degree or equivalent) with progress toward or completion of SQE or comparable qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in legal consulting, advising clients, assessing legal risks, and recommending practical solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving abilities and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work on‑site in Mogadishu, manage a full‑time workload, and collaborate effectively in a cross‑cultural environment.
