Paralegal & Eviction Taskforce Monitor (National Role)

About the role

NRC Somalia is seeking qualified female candidates to join a national roster of Paralegals and Eviction Taskforce Monitors based in Adado. The positions are casual staff supporting the ICLA team to deliver community‑based legal assistance and monitor eviction risks for displaced and vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal information, counselling and referral services on housing, land, property, civil documentation and protection concerns.
• Conduct community outreach, raise legal awareness and support dispute resolution and case follow‑up.
• Document, monitor and report eviction incidents, displacement trends and early‑warning indicators.
• Assist in case identification, data collection, case management and reporting to inform NRC interventions.
• Coordinate with local authorities, service providers and other humanitarian actors to improve access to justice.

Required profile

• Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with displaced, IDP or vulnerable communities in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to work independently in remote field environments and travel within the region.
• Good communication skills in local languages and English.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of housing, land and property law and civil documentation procedures.
• Ability to record and report data accurately.
• Familiarity with community outreach and legal counselling techniques.
