Project Officer – Immunization (Wajid)

About the role

The Project Officer – Immunization will lead and support the implementation of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) activities under the GiveWell Immunization Program at district level in Wajid, South West/Jubaland State. The role focuses on coordinating routine and outreach immunisation services, ensuring vaccine supply, cold‑chain management and data quality to increase equitable access to life‑saving vaccines for children under five and eligible women.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and support routine immunisation services and supplemental outreach activities in the targeted districts.
• Work closely with the Ministry of Health, district health teams, health facility staff and implementing partners.
• Develop, update and monitor micro‑plans for fixed, outreach and mobile immunisation services.
• Conduct supportive supervision visits to health facilities and outreach sites to assess service quality and adherence to EPI standards.
• Monitor vaccine supply, cold‑chain performance and ensure compliance with national EPI policies and donor requirements.
• Collect, analyse and report immunisation data, track key performance indicators and support evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Identify gaps in coverage, recommend corrective actions and contribute to improving vaccination rates.

Required profile

• Experience in implementing Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) activities.
• Ability to coordinate with Ministry of Health, district health authorities and partner organisations.
• Knowledge of national EPI guidelines, donor reporting requirements and immunisation data systems.
