About the role
The Communications & Visibility Officer will support the implementation of the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. Reporting to the core project team, the junior officer will ensure that project activities are effectively communicated to donors, partners, and the public.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication and visibility plans in line with EU donor guidelines.
- Produce newsletters, press releases, case studies, and social‑media content to showcase project results.
- Manage the project’s social‑media channels and graphic assets.
- Coordinate public events, media briefings, and stakeholder outreach.
- Monitor media coverage and maintain relationships with local and international journalists.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience managing communications for development projects or NGOs.
- Excellent written and verbal English; knowledge of Somali is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to follow EU communication standards.
