About the role
The Communications & Visibility Officer will support the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. Working within the core team, you will ensure the project’s results are effectively communicated to donors, partners and the public.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the project’s communication and visibility strategy in line with EU guidelines.
- Produce newsletters, press releases, case studies and social‑media content.
- Manage the project’s social‑media channels and graphic assets.
- Coordinate public events and media briefings to showcase project outcomes.
- Liaise with journalists, stakeholders and partners to disseminate information.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience managing communications for development projects or NGOs.
- Excellent written and verbal English; knowledge of Somali is an asset.
Required skills
- Digital media, graphic design and content creation.
- Proficiency with social‑media management tools.
- Experience producing newsletters, press releases and case studies.
- Familiarity with EU donor communication and visibility standards.
