Barista I

About the role

Brites Management Services is hiring a full-time Barista I in Hargeisa, Somaliland, within the hospitality industry. The role covers coffee preparation, latte art, machine operation, customer service and basic inventory support.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks such as cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos and americanos with consistent flavour and presentation.
• Grind, dose and tamp coffee accurately, experiment with pour-over, French press and AeroPress methods when needed, and produce precise latte art.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders and brewing equipment safely, clean and calibrate them, and report technical issues to management.
• Greet customers, take accurate orders, recommend drinks and handle complaints professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness, follow food safety standards and store coffee beans, milk and other ingredients properly.
• Monitor stock of beans, milk, syrups and consumables, assist with ordering and report shortages.
• Work with kitchen staff during peak hours, attend training and present a neat, punctual appearance.

Required profile

• Certificate in barista training, hospitality or a related field (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in coffee brewing and latte art.
• Valid passport.
• Professional appearance, well-groomed and able to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of espresso-based beverages and coffee machine operation.
• Latte art and milk steaming.
