Branch Manager – Hamarweyne Branch & Dekeda Service Center

About the role

The Branch Manager for the Hamarweyne Branch & Dekeda Service Center will be the primary driver of business growth, deposit mobilization, customer acquisition, and operational excellence for SOMBank. This role represents the bank to government institutions, NGOs, international organisations and the local commercial market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the branch’s business development strategy targeting ministries, public agencies, NGOs, UN bodies, development partners, corporate clients, SMEs and local traders.
• Design and execute annual acquisition plans aligned with the bank’s strategic objectives.
• Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with ministers, directors, procurement units and senior officials.
• Drive deposit mobilization campaigns to grow low‑cost, stable funding and increase market share.
• Represent SOMBank at government forums, business associations and community events.
• Ensure branch profitability, risk management, regulatory and Shariah compliance.
• Lead and develop the branch team, fostering high performance and excellent customer experience.

Required profile

• Senior banking professional with a proven track record in branch management or business development.
• Extensive network and experience working with public sector and development institutions.
• Strong leadership, communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Demonstrated capability to manage risk, compliance and operational excellence.
• Experience serving corporate, SME and retail customers in a dynamic market.
