Clinical Psychologist (UNSOS)

About the role

The Clinical Psychologist will provide mental health services for patients within the United Nations Office in Somalia (UNSOS) mission, delivering assessments, diagnoses, and therapeutic interventions in a humanitarian setting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments using interviews, observations, and standardized tests.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on evidence‑based practices such as CBT and DBT.
• Provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and long‑term support.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated care and participate in case reviews, audits, and clinical meetings.

Required profile

• Degree in clinical psychology with at least 3 years of progressive post‑qualification experience.
• Registered and licensed to practice in own country or another UN member state.
• Experience in international, humanitarian, or conflict‑zone healthcare settings.
• Fluency in English (minimum B2); additional languages are an advantage.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
