Consultant Cardiologist – Hargeisa

About the role

Pharo Health is launching a flagship diagnostic and healthcare services business in Hargeisa, Somaliland. We are looking for a Consultant Cardiologist to lead the establishment and delivery of cardiology services within our state‑of‑the‑art facility. The role combines clinical expertise with the responsibility to develop a centre of excellence in cardiovascular care and preventive cardiology.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and interpret transthoracic echocardiograms and, where applicable, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) to assess cardiac structure and function.
• Conduct and analyse exercise stress tests (treadmill test, TMT) and provide diagnostic reports.
• Provide expert cardiovascular consultation, diagnosis and management for patients with cardiac conditions.
• Oversee the implementation and quality assurance of advanced non‑invasive cardiac diagnostic services.
• Lead the development of cardiology protocols, training programmes and service expansion plans.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialization in cardiology and board certification or equivalent qualification.
• Significant experience in clinical cardiology, preferably at a consultant or senior level.
• Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team and develop cardiac services.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care in a resource‑limited setting.

Required skills

• Echocardiography (transthoracic and transesophageal).
• Exercise stress test (TMT) performance and interpretation.
• Non‑invasive cardiac diagnostic techniques.
