Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

The Cyber Security Consultant will work on‑site in Mogadishu to assess and improve the security posture of Basiirah’s systems and networks. You will collaborate with internal teams and partner organisations to mitigate risks and support the organisation’s mission of advancing cybersecurity education.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests on network and application assets.
• Design, implement, and review security controls, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure network architectures.
• Develop clear documentation, reports, and remediation recommendations for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Support incident response activities and contribute to cybersecurity training materials and workshops.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in cybersecurity, risk management, and security governance.
• Hands‑on experience with network security devices and secure software development practices.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Commitment to Basiirah’s mission and ethical standards.
