Finance Officer (Somalia Nationals Only)

About the role

The Finance Officer will support the Finance department in managing accounting systems, policies and procedures in line with CRS standards, GAAP, donor regulations and Somali legal requirements. Working within an experienced team, the officer will coordinate daily financial activities and ensure accurate processing of transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and document financial transactions, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain data for processing transactions in the Insight accounting package.
• Record delegated financial transactions with proper authorizations.
• Detect irregularities through account reviews.
• Evaluate sub‑recipient financial management and build partner capacity.
• Prepare delegated financial reports as needed.
• Share policy and compliance information with sub‑recipients and staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration (or equivalent qualification such as CPA/ACCA).
• Minimum two years of accounting experience.
• English proficiency required; working knowledge of Somali preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within Somalia.
• No supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with the Insight financial accounting software.
