Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor (Junior)

About the role

NTU International A/S is seeking a junior Gender & Social Inclusion Advisor to join the core team of the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. The role focuses on enhancing gender equity and social inclusion within the higher education sector.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the project’s objectives to strengthen coordination, regulation, and sustainability of higher education interventions.
• Design and implement gender and social‑inclusion strategies aligned with donor requirements.
• Conduct gender analyses and develop policies, action plans, and monitoring frameworks to address inequities.
• Design and deliver training sessions and awareness campaigns on gender equality and inclusion.
• Collaborate with project partners to ensure integration of international standards on gender and inclusion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in gender studies, sociology, social work, development or a related field.
• Formal training in gender mainstreaming and social inclusion.
• Understanding of barriers faced by women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalized groups in accessing education.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and implementing gender and social‑inclusion strategies in development programmes.
• Experience conducting gender analyses and developing related policies and action plans.
• Familiarity with international standards and donor requirements on gender and inclusion.
