General Auto Technician (3 positions)

About the role

The General Auto Technician will join Dahabshiil Motors’ service department in Hargeisa, Somaliland, performing a wide range of vehicle repairs and maintenance. The role focuses on ensuring vehicles operate safely and efficiently while delivering high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs including engine overhauls for petrol and diesel engines, suspension, brake and transmission work.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections and fluid level checks.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Conduct wheel alignment and balancing using advanced alignment equipment.
• Document all work performed, parts used and preventive maintenance recommendations.
• Meet dealership productivity targets by adhering to Standard Repair Time (SRT) guidelines.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly to service advisors and customers.

Required profile

• Certificate in Automotive Engineering or Automotive Systems.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• 5–10 years of hands‑on experience in general automotive repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Customer‑focused attitude and effective communication skills.
