Hotel Manager

About the role

The Hotel Manager will lead all aspects of hotel operations in Mogadishu, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while driving profitability. Reporting to senior ownership, the role combines strategic planning with day‑to‑day management across multiple departments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Security, Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Human Resources.
• Develop and enforce operational policies, service standards and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
• Monitor departmental performance, occupancy, ADR, revenue and cost indicators to achieve financial targets.
• Oversee facilities management to maintain safety, functionality and aesthetic standards.
• Handle escalated guest complaints, analyse feedback and implement service improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to create strategies that increase occupancy and revenue.
• Recruit, mentor and evaluate managers and staff, fostering a performance‑driven culture.
• Prepare regular financial and operational reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in hotel management or similar hospitality roles.
• Proven track record of managing multi‑departmental operations in a full‑service hotel.
• Strong financial acumen with experience budgeting, forecasting and analysing key performance metrics.
• Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, with ability to develop teams.
• High level of customer service orientation and problem‑solving ability.
