Humanitarian Analyst – Somalia

About the role

The Humanitarian Analyst will join the Humanitarian team at Save the Children’s Somalia Country Office. The role focuses on gathering and analysing humanitarian data to produce timely reports that inform senior leadership and programme teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, monitor and analyse information on humanitarian trends, conflict dynamics, displacement, climate risks, food security, access constraints, public health and operational developments across Somalia.
• Produce situation reports, early‑warning updates, risk analyses, emergency assessments and briefing notes to support preparedness and response planning.
• Collaborate with the Humanitarian team, Area Offices, technical specialists, evidence/learning units and the global Context Analysis and Foresight Unit.
• Provide technical support to the Somali Disaster Management Agency and share information with humanitarian stakeholders and government institutions.
• Maintain high analytical standards and ensure timely dissemination of quality information products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Affairs, International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Conflict Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Data Analysis or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in humanitarian analysis, context analysis, information management, emergency preparedness or related programming.
