About the role
This position supports the implementation of the EU‑funded Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. The advisor will help build a more inclusive higher‑education environment by integrating gender and social‑inclusion perspectives into project activities.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement gender and social‑inclusion strategies for the project.
- Conduct gender analyses and develop policies and action plans to address inequities.
- Design and deliver training and awareness campaigns on gender equality and inclusion.
- Ensure compliance with international standards and donor requirements on gender and inclusion.
- Support capacity‑building of higher‑education institutions for sustainable coordination and regulation.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in gender studies, sociology, social work, development or a related field.
- Training in gender mainstreaming and social inclusion.
- Understanding of barriers faced by women, youth, persons with disabilities and marginalised groups in accessing education.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and implementing gender and social‑inclusion strategies in development programmes.
- Experience conducting gender analyses and developing related policies and action plans.
- Familiarity with international standards and donor requirements on gender and inclusion.
