Junior Training & Capacity-Building Facilitator for Higher Education Project

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Training and Capacity‑Building Facilitator to join the core team of the Higher Education System Strengthening Project II in Somalia. The role focuses on designing, delivering and evaluating capacity‑building programmes for ministry and university staff to improve coordination, regulation and sustainability of higher education interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate training‑of‑trainers sessions and adult‑learning workshops for adult learners in the education sector.
• Develop training materials, coaching guides and mentoring tools tailored to ministry and university staff.
• Monitor and assess training effectiveness, adapting content to meet participants’ needs.
• Utilise virtual and blended‑learning platforms and manage logistics for in‑person and online workshops.
• Collaborate with project partners to ensure alignment with project objectives and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education, adult‑learning, human resource development or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience designing and facilitating capacity‑building programmes for adult learners, preferably in higher education.
• Proven ability to develop training materials and deliver workshops, coaching sessions and mentoring.
• Experience monitoring training outcomes and adjusting programmes accordingly.

Required skills

• Familiarity with training‑of‑trainers approaches and adult‑learning methodologies.
• Experience with virtual or blended‑learning platforms and workshop logistics.
