Legal Aid Consultant – Law SQE (Mogadishu)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Aid Consultant to join our team in Mogadishu. The role involves providing comprehensive legal advice and support to a diverse client base, ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse legal issues and develop case strategies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare accurate legal documentation, including contracts and correspondence.
• Assist clients with regulatory and compliance matters.
• Liaise with clients to explain legal options and maintain detailed records of consultations and case files.
• Collaborate with other consultants and stakeholders to deliver consistent legal support.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in law with the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation.
• Experience in legal consulting, advising clients on rights, obligations and strategies.
• Relevant legal education (law degree or equivalent) and progress toward or completion of the SQE or a comparable qualification.
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional local languages are a plus.
• Ability to work on‑site in Mogadishu, adapt to local legal and cultural contexts, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
