Programme Accountant – Grant Management & Financial Oversight

About the role

The Programme Accountant will manage financial and grant oversight for Trócaire’s Somalia programme, based in Gedo (Dollow) with regular travel to operational districts. The role combines financial management, compliance, and partner‑facing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide grant management for donor‑funded projects, ensuring compliance with donors such as Gates Foundation, FCDO, Irish Aid, ECHO and UN.
• Monitor budgets, expenditures, cash‑flows and forecasts using Agresso (Unit4) and Salesforce; prepare financial and donor reports with variance analysis.
• Lead partner capacity assessments, develop tailored capacity‑building plans and validate partner financial reports.
• Conduct field‑level financial verifications, coordinate audit preparation and track audit recommendations.
• Maintain accurate data in Agresso and Salesforce, upload budgets, and support month‑end close and quarterly budget reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration.
• CPA or ACCA qualification (minimum Part III or equivalent).
• At least 3 years of experience in financial and grant management for donor‑funded programmes.
• Familiarity with donor regulations (e.g., Gates Foundation, ECHO, FCDO, Irish Aid, UN).
• Willingness to travel frequently to field locations and strong analytical and communication skills.
