Programme Analyst – Women’s Economic Empowerment

About the role

The Programme Analyst – Women’s Economic Empowerment will be based in Dolow, Somalia, and will support UN Women’s efforts to advance gender equality and women’s empowerment. Reporting to the Programme Specialist and working closely with the Country Programme Manager, the analyst provides technical leadership and coordination for the Women’s and Youth Economic Empowerment components of the SRDHT programme.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and implementation of Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) activities, ensuring alignment with the Somalia National Transformation Plan and National Durable Solutions Strategy.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to implementing partners, monitoring progress and ensuring gender‑responsive delivery.
• Prepare and submit regular monitoring, reporting and performance documentation for the SRDHT programme.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including coordination with government ministries, UN agencies, NGOs and community groups.
• Contribute to UN Women’s LEAP flagship programming and support humanitarian interventions to ensure coherence with broader country priorities.

Required profile

• Experience in programme management, coordination or technical leadership within gender equality, women’s economic empowerment or related development contexts.
• Strong understanding of gender‑responsive programming and the socio‑economic environment in Somalia.
• Ability to work effectively in a field setting, engage diverse stakeholders and produce high‑quality reports.
