About the role
The Programme Manager (Community Stabilisation) will lead and coordinate the EU flagship stabilisation project and its integration with the FCDO flagship project, supporting the Transition and Recovery Pillar in Somalia.
Key responsibilities
- Manage, coordinate and oversee activities of the EU Strengthening the Social Contract through Socio‑Economic Infrastructure project (2026‑2029).
- Integrate and align the project with the FCDO Strengthening Community Security and Stabilisation (SCSS) initiative.
- Maintain effective relationships with government counterparts, donors, UN agencies and implementing partners.
- Coordinate technical engagement with the Government of Somalia at federal and member‑state levels, focusing on the Ministry of Interior.
- Oversee programme development, monitoring, reporting, staff supervision and the advancement of new initiatives.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development or related field with at least five years of relevant experience (or equivalent university degree with seven years).
- Experience in stabilisation, transition, recovery, peacebuilding or related programming.
- Proven experience in project development, implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
- Experience liaising with governmental authorities, development partners, donors and international organisations.
- Familiarity with financial and administrative management, preferably in fragile or complex environments.
Required skills
- Strong ability to establish and maintain working relations with government counterparts, international organisations and private‑sector entities.
- Excellent leadership, coordination and information‑management capabilities.
- Knowledge of UN system, NGOs and other international institutions.
- Analytical, conceptualisation and writing skills.
- Fluency in English (oral and written); additional UN language is an advantage.
