Research Officer

About the role

Consilient is seeking an entry‑level Research Officer to join its Hargeisa office. You will support the full research life‑cycle—from designing methodologies to field data collection, analysis, and report writing—across a range of development and humanitarian sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design research methodologies to answer key questions.
• Draft quantitative and qualitative data collection tools for diverse projects.
• Train local staff and supervise field data‑collection teams.
• Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data sets.
• Lead the writing of research reports and communicate progress with clients.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in research or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Master’s preferred).
• Strong interest in research methodology and data analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multi‑sector environment.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of SPSS.
• Basic knowledge of Stata.
• Basic knowledge of R.
